[Addiction Recovery Foundation] - The ARF are based in London and publish the journal "Addiction Today", which is the only magazine in the UK devoted to recovery from addiction. Site includes links to self-help groups and treatment centres, research, news, relevant legislation.
[Barley Wood] - Barley Wood is based in Wrington and is one of several drug rehabilitation projects operated by A.D.A.P.T. (Alcohol and Drug Addiction Prevention and Treatment Ltd). Housed in a large country home, situated in the Mendip Hills, it offers a relaxing environment conducive to making positive life changes.
[Clouds House] - Clouds House is based in Wiltshire and provides a range of services for people with drug and alcohol dependencies, including residential rehabilitation, out-patient aftercare, out-patient psychotherapy, family support services, couples counselling etc.
[ISSD] - Based in London, the ISDD is an independent organisation which aims to provide objective, accurate and current information on all aspects of drug misuse for professionals, policy makers and researchers. Their site provides links to their library and drug action teams. They also offer information on UK trends, events and updates.
[National Treatment Outcome Research Study] - NTORS is run from the National Addiction Centre at the Maudsley Hospital in London, co-ordinated by Dr John Marsden. NTORS is the first large-scale, prospective follow up study of drug misuse conducted in the United Kingdom. The site offers further access to publications, bulletins etc.
[Nottingham Alcohol & Drug Team] - The Nottingham Alcohol and Drug Team provide links to treatment facilities in their area and information about Uk social policy, law, enforecement etc. They also have an online alcohol dependence assessment questionnaire.
[Therapy Manuals for Drug Addiction - Manual 1] - Kathleen Carroll PhD developed this cognitive behavioural approach to treating cocaine addiction. The manual is provided by the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
