Press Association News Centre - One of the best news resources on the Internet which has been used by professionals for years. Features include live continuous video coverage of the House of Commons, 'What The Papers Say', and a copious supply of links.

Teletext - Online version of the popular television news service.

Newspapers:

Electronic Telegraph - Very rich site with plenty of material available for browsing in addition to the news stories.

Guardian Online - Truly excellent site with up to the minute news resources.

Independent - The site is a collection of material that is already available in the paper with some additional resources.

The Times - Almost all the material contained within the Daily and Sunday papers is available in a web-friendly format after filling out a short registration form.

Magazines:

[Community Care Magazine] - Online version of the popular weekly social care magazine. Facilities includes a specific social care job search by sector, location, salary range etc.

New Statesman - The website has a collection of articles from the magazine available in full. It has undergone a lot of changes since the magazine was founded in 1913, but is still as radical and far-reaching as ever.

Private Eye - Famous satirical magazine which pillories everything that is absurd and wrong about British life today.
